Vaccines Specialist

Why are vaccines important?

Vaccines play a crucial role in safeguarding health throughout both childhood and adulthood. While the body has some natural immunity developed in the womb and early childhood, it is not equipped to fight off all diseases. Certain illnesses can cause severe sickness or even death. Vaccines work by helping the body produce disease-fighting antibodies, offering protection against serious illnesses and promoting long-term wellness.

Will vaccines make my child sick?

No, vaccines will not make your child sick. Some mild flu-like symptoms may occur after a vaccination, which are a natural response as the body builds antibodies to protect against future infections. These symptoms typically resolve within a day or two and can be managed with over-the-counter pain relievers if necessary. There may also be some temporary tenderness at the injection site, which will fade quickly.

What kinds of vaccines does your practice offer?

Our practice provides a comprehensive range of vaccines recommended for children, including:

Some vaccines provide lifelong immunity, while others require periodic booster shots to maintain their effectiveness.

Office Vaccination Policy

We pride ourselves on being able to protect all of our patients from serious, vaccine-preventable illnesses. Some of our doctors have been practicing medicine for over 25 years and they remember what it was like before we had some of the modern vaccines. Kids used to get so sick, end up in the hospital, struggled to breathe, developed permanent hearing loss, and worse. Being able to prevent these illnesses with safe and effective vaccines has truly been a GIFT to modern medicine.
However, we recognize that there is so much conflicting information out there and new parents may be unsure who to trust. New parents have the joy of a beautiful healthy baby and they want to make the very best decisions for their baby without making any mistakes.
We are a “vaccinating practice” and we follow the American Academy of Pediatrics Immunization Schedule. Although it is not recommended and not scientifically-backed, our doctors can create a “flexible vaccine schedule” for those parents who are hesitant to give too many shots at once.

We have a MINIMUM VACCINE REQUIREMENT for all patients in our practice, which is to receive all Dtap, polio and MMR vaccines on time. We require these vaccines in order to protect our youngest, smallest and immune-fragile patients from acquiring those illnesses from our office. We appreciate your understanding of this requirement.
